BAPLab Photos

The BAPLab went off this weekend. Thanks to all attending. There was some amazing audio, visual, and interactive work (and just about everything in between). I recently jumped on the Flickr train. So you can now check out the photo set from the show. Thanks again for all your support, criticism, and dancing (yes that would be you Ms.Chowdhury).

BAP Lab

Next week Friday the Alphabet Machine will be on display at the BAP LAB. The exhibition, presented by the Bushwick Art Project, is a one night festival of electronic music, interactive installations, and new media art.

Send an email to the Alphabet Machine and it will be played during the show! Hope to see you there.

Beasts of Burden

Normally we avoid SOHO on the weekends like the plague. However, this past Saturday we happened to be there and came across what looked like a construction site. There were men in hard hats, orange cones and they had part of the road blocked off near Green and Spring. As we approached we realized that they had fish on their construction signs and bears on their reflective construction vests. They weren't working the buster. They were artists!

It turns out the site-specific installation was a one day performance of Ryan Metke. And you know what Ryan, I really enjoyed it. Especially after spending last weekend at the 'Into Me /Out of Me' show at PS1. Don't even get me started. So look for it on a corner near you.

What Beasts of Burden really brought out, in me anyway, is: a) I love this city because, b) anything is possible if you have enough imagination and c) you never know what exciting experience is just around the corner. Hope everyone is having a great holiday.
